"Susan's contacts across the Chicago legal market enable her to add value to the search process in ways other legal recruiters cannot. As a result of those personal connections, she was able to secure an interview and ultimately employment for me with a top-tier law firm that otherwise would have passed over my credentials without fully understanding the skills and value that I could add to their practice group."

SUSAN MENDELSOHN, founder and president of Mendelsohn Legal, is a former law firm equity partner and co-chair of the marketing committee. She understands the inner workings and cultures of law firms, including staffing requirements for various practice areas and the need to find the right match for both firm and candidate.

The search process requires tenacity, creativity and drive. Mendelsohn Legal discretely taps into numerous resources including a robust network of industry contacts, plus databases, journals, the Internet, and more. We carefully vet job requirements and candidates through meetings and in-depth evaluations, resulting in the placement of the right candidate in the right job.

Mendelsohn Legal does not end its relationship with a candidate once placed in a firm or corporate legal department. Susan understands the need to continue assisting the law firm or corporation in the integration of the partner, associate or paralegal. Susan also continues to meet with candidates to ensure that this goal is met and often offers business development and other career advice.

Susan Mendelsohn believes that "giving back" is a key component of her firm's work. Mendelsohn Legal donates a portion of payment for completed search to charities benefiting the legal community and diversity programs.
